What New Year resolutions have you given yourself for 2014? Do they include taking regular and consistent Mommy Time-Outs?

I have promised myself that this year I will make my Mommy Time-Outs happen at least twice a month, if not more. Currently where I am working we have an employee benefit where we can get massages for a minimal fee. I plan to take full advantage of that!  I can go during my lunch break, before or after work, or on a day off, so I have a lot of flexibility here.

I have also written in my calendar the days that I plan to take my Mommy Time-Outs this year, from January through December!

I have specifically written on the days I’m going to have my Time-Outs, what I plan to do for that day, whether it is meeting a friend for a walk, reading a book, having coffee with a friend, going on a date with my husband, or just catching up with a friend by telephone.

I know, of course, that the unforeseen happens, and the days I picked now, or the activity I have planned today, may not be what actually occurs and when.  However, the mere fact of having my MTOs scheduled in my calendar, with weekly and daily reminders, will ensure I will not miss my MTOs because I have lost track of time. Not to mention I won’t be out of ideas when the time comes!

I plan to start this New Year taking care of my loved ones by taking care of me. We all know the old saying that if Mommy isn’t happy then nobody is happy.  So let’s make it a great year and set ourselves up for success! How will you plan your MTO’s for 2014?
