Last month I wrote about how I had planned all my MTO’s for the year. I must confess, it has not gone as planned.
I recently got remarried in December. The wedding, honeymoon, Christmas and New Years all came and went in a blur. I have two kids and he has three kids. You can imagine the rest. There were many times that I was overwhelmed because we moved into his place. I have yet to finish packing and I am still trying to patch up holes and clean the carpet at my old place. Needless to say, I have been on edge with my husband and kids the last couple of weeks.
Yet with all of this going on, believe it or not, I still managed to take one MTO.
It wasn’t as long as I wished it was, granted, but it was enough. I have needed that alone time to just think clearly. I put on my running shoes and just walked and walked. It felt so great to be outside knowing I was doing something for me. I gained a few pounds over the holidays, which I was feeling guilty about, so this walk has also motivated me to get fit and make healthier eating choices.
It’s the second week of the New Year and even though I got off to a slow start with my MTOs, I will not allow this to discourage me because I know I have the ability to change it. I will just be more consistent and not allow different situations or challenges throughout the day – and life in general – to keep me from having my MTO!
What about you? Have you had any challenges in meeting your MTO Resolution so far this year? Please tell me I’m not the only one! I’d love to hear from you!
